This weekend Richmond.com presents it’s annual Uncorked Wine Festival, benefiting YWCA!

It’s a day of wine sampling, live music, local artists, plus food and additional wine for purchase from some of the area’s hottest names dining, all in the heart of Richmond. It’s all at Richmond.com Uncorked this Saturday June 15, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the gate and include wine sampling and a souvenir glass. Designated driver tickets will be available at the gate for $5. ONLY CASH AND CHECKS CAN BE TAKEN ONSITE. AN ATM WILL BE AVAILABLE.

The world famous Budweiser Clydesdales, the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933, are scheduled to make a special appearance in the area on Thursday, May 30, 2013 in Downtown Richmond at the 17th Street Farmers’ Market for a Clydesdales Happy Hour from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The eight-horse hitch will be harnessed and hitched to the famous red beer wagon and will make several stops to merchants in the Farmers’ Market at 5:30 p.m.

Photo opportunities with the “Gentle Giants,” as they are often referred to, will be available for the public until 7:30 p.m., along with adult refreshments from Brown Distributing. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to see the Clydesdales in person!!

If you’re staying in town, Rockets Landing is sure to be one of the best places to spend Memorial Day Weekend! This Sunday features Rockets Red Glare, which had a huge turnout last year!

This year marks 30 years for the annual Chili Cook Off!  Each and every year, swarms of people of all ages have rushed into the event, tasting some of Richmond’s best chili recipes. Some contenders are local favorites like Cha Cha’s Cantina, along with plenty of private chilis brought in from home recipes. 

But the Chili isn’t where the fun stops! The music line up this year is one that will open the gates to a wider range of fans. “Steeplechase horses will compete at Colonial Downs and tailgaters will party on the country’s second largest dirt oval as Central Virginia’s new spring racing event will kick off with an early April date.

The first ever “Dogwood Classic” will be held the afternoon of Saturday April 6th, 2013. A number of National Steeplechase Association (NSA) races are expected to take place on the Secretariat turf course and tailgating will be available on the track’s 1 ¼ mile dirt track.”

Let’s be honest, you suck at navigating through a crowded bar. Always one step forward and seven shoves back. It’s impossible to miss thousands of music fans in Shockoe Bottom. It’s even more impossible to miss some of the talent showcased at this past weekend’s RVA Music Fest. The Fest featured Girl Talk and Best Coast as its headliners but boasted more than 20 local and non-local musical artists and groups including No BS Brass Band, Diamond Center, and White Laces.
